Buccaneers defensive coordinator Mike Smith stated the obvious last week when he said that the team’s defense needs to be better than it was during a 5-11 2017 season.

It was obvious based on the way the Bucs played and by their offseason focus on adding pieces to the unit. Many of those pieces were added to a defensive line that’s been anchored by defensive tackle Gerald McCoy in recent years.

The Bucs have added Jason Pierre-Paul Womens Luke Kunin Jersey , Vinny Curry, Beau Allen, Mitch Unrein and first-round pick Vita Vea to the group this offseason, which McCoy sees as reason for optimism tinged with the realization that they can’t just show up and expect better results.

“Me going into my ninth year, we need more experience in the room and I am excited about it,” McCoy said, via the Tampa Bay Times. “It’s going to be good. Here’s the thing http://www.officialblackhawksproshop.com/authentic-adidas-artem-anisimov-jersey , the media, you guys see names and you immediately get excited. There is a lot of work to be done.”

There are new faces to integrate on the other levels of the defense as well and the ability to do so successfully will have a lot to do with how the Bucs fare in 2018.

The New England Patriots have signed the second of their first-round draft picks http://www.seahawksauthorizedshops.com/authentic-will-dissly-jersey , Georgia running back Sony Michel.

New England selected Michel 31st overall, eight spots after taking one of his college blocker, Isaiah Wynn.

Michel is expected to be a major contributor in the backfield after the Patriots lost running back Dion Lewis in free agency.

The 5-foot-11, 215-pound Michel was third on Georgia's all-time rushing list with 3,688 yards. Last season, he played in 14 games with two starts while splitting time with Nick Chubb, who was drafted in the second round by Cleveland. Michel finished with 1,227 yards on 156 carries (7.9-yard average..

New England also placed offensive lineman Andrew Jelks on the reserve/retired list Monday.

Jelks Authentic Jason Sanders Jersey , 24, was signed by the Patriots as a rookie free agent out of Vanderbilt last year, but went on the injured reserve/non-football injury list before the regular season. He has been plagued by knee injuries and last played in 2014.

Mitchell Trubisky plays in the same division with Aaron Rodgers, Kirk Cousins and Matthew Stafford. Rodgers has won two league MVP awards and a Super Bowl MVP; Stafford is a former No. 1 overall draft choice who has passed for more than 4,000 yards seven consecutive seasons; and Cousins signed a three-year, $84 million fully guaranteed deal with the Vikings.

Trubisky, though, insists he doesn’t have a chip on his shoulder. Instead Orlando Brown Jr. Jersey , he embraces the “challenge” of playing in a division with Rodgers, Cousins and Stafford.

“If that doesn’t get you excited, I don’t know what will,” Trubisky said, via Tyler Dunne of Bleacher Report. “People say, ‘This kid, no matter how good he does, he’s going to be the worst in his division every year.’ That’s a challenge I’m going to accept. You have to go toe-to-toe with the big dogs. We want to make teams fear coming into Chicago Adidas Clayton Keller Jersey , and when we come into their town, they know we’re in for a war.

“So get ready. I’m going to be prepared. I’m going to give you everything I’ve got. Hopefully, I make people eat their words with what they say about me.”

Trubisky quietly has gone about his business as Patrick Mahomes and Deshaun Watson, the other first-round quarterbacks from last year, have received all the offseason press. Mahomes played 63 snaps. Watson played 464 and is coming off major knee surgery.

Trubisky, the second overall pick in 2017, played 724 snaps in 12 starts as a rookie. He threw seven touchdowns and seven interceptions.

He believes in himself and his ability to lead the Bears back into contention, even if no one outside the organization does.

“If it’s not the first game Authentic Leighton Vander Esch Jersey , it’s the second game,” Trubisky said. “If it’s not the second game, it’s the third game. If it’s not this year, it’s next year. But I do believe it’ll be this year.”

Brent Suter turned a quick mistake into a big win over the St. Louis Cardinals.

The left-hander pitched seven strong innings Quenton Nelson Jersey , Manny Pina homered and the Milwaukee Brewers capitalized on a season-high four errors by St. Louis in an 11-3 victory Thursday night.

Suter (8-4) retired 12 straight after Matt Carpenter homered on the first pitch of the game.

”Not that I just laid it in there, but it kind of fired me up,” Suter said. ”It was like, OK, they’re coming out swinging. I have to locate better and come out with that much more conviction on my early pitches.”

That he did.

Suter went a career-high seven innings for the second time this season and third overall. He limited the Cardinals to two runs and two hits with a walk and five strikeouts.

”I was able to get some early outs and keep them off the bases,” he said.

Suter is 6-1 with a 3.12 ERA in his last seven starts and made an impression on his manager by commanding his curveball and changeup.

”To me, this little run he’s on Anthony Averett Jersey , his off-speed pitches have been well-located,” Milwaukee skipper Craig Counsell said.

The Brewers regained the lead in NL Central, one game ahead of the Chicago Cubs.

Carlos Martinez (3-4) struggled in his fourth start since returning from the disabled list (right lat strain). He allowed seven runs – five earned – on eight hits in four innings with two walks, three strikeouts and two wild pitches. The right-hander is 0-2 with an 8.10 ERA since being activated on June 4.

Milwaukee went ahead 2-1 in the first and never looked back.

Left fielder Marcell Ozuna tracked Jesus Aguilar’s towering fly and climbed the wall in anticipation of making a home run-saving catch. The ball hit the padding behind and below Ozuna and bounced away as two runs scored for Milwaukee.

Fielding and throwing errors in the third helped the Brewers tack on two unearned runs.

Lorenzo Cain reached on Carpenter’s fielding error at third base and scored on Travis Shaw’s double. Shaw advanced on a wild pitch and then raced home when Martinez lost the grip on the ball as he threw toward the plate and it squirted toward the third base line.

The Brewers broke it open in the fourth on a home run by Pina, a run-scoring single by Cain and a sacrifice fly by Shaw.

Milwaukee added three unearned runs in the seventh aided by a fielding and throwing error by second baseman Jedd Gyorko.

The four Cardinals errors surprised Suter.

”They definitely had some uncharacteristic mistakes,” he said. ”We had a lot of baserunners there. So, maybe keeping the pressure on them led to that. They don’t do that very often Marquez Valdes-Scantling Jersey , and they probably won’t the rest of the series.”

St. Louis manager Mike Matheny addressed the miscues.

”Mistakes are mistakes,” he said. ”Guys prepare. They compete. They don’t give up. Mistakes are going to happen. Do we settle for them? Do we try to fix them? We don’t settle. We try to fix. That’s all.”

Yadier Molina was hit by a pitch and scored on a double by Yairo Munoz in the fifth. Munoz had a run-scoring base hit in the ninth.

Carpenter hit the first pitch from Suter for his 17th leadoff home run and second of the season.

TRAINER’S ROOM

Cardinals: RHP John Gant was recalled from Triple-A Memphis for the third time this season. He allowed three hits and four unearned runs with two strikeouts over two innings.

Brewers: LF Ryan Braun, who is batting .236 with eight home runs and 31 RBIs, had a cryotherapy injection in his troublesome right thumb Wednesday in Los Angeles. It’s the first time this season and fifth overall that he’s undergone the procedure to freeze the nerve. He did not play.

CAIN UPDATE

Cain came out in the top of the fifth with a right hamstring cramp. He hit a sacrifice fly in the fourth before exiting in what the team called a precautionary move. Counsell said Cain will be in the lineup Friday.

WACHA UPDATE

The Cardinals placed right-hander Michael Wacha on the 10-day disabled list with a left oblique strain. Wacha (8-2), who has a 3.20 ERA and leads the team in wins and strikeouts (71) in 15 starts, left Wednesday’s outing against Philadelphia with the injury. Matheny said an MRI confirmed the strain and it was too early to tell how long Wacha will be out. ”It’ll be a couple of weeks, at least Youth Phillip Gaines Jersey ,” Matheny said. ”We don’t have a clear time. They’re still doing testing.”

UP NEXT

Cardinals: RHP Jack Flaherty (3-2, 2.66 ERA) makes his third career start against the Brewers and second at Miller Park, where he made his major league debut on April 3, striking out nine in a 5-4 loss. He was optioned to the minors the next day to make roster room for RHP Adam Wainwright.

Brewers: RHP Junior Guerra (3-5, 2.89) makes his 14th start of the season and third against the Cardinals. He is 2-2 with a 3.82 ERA in six career starts vs. St. Louis, including 1-0 in two starts this season.

The Atlanta Falcons released defensive end Derrick Shelby on Friday and announced plans to release tight end Levine Toilolo.

The moves will save the team a combined $6.75 million in cap space. The cost-cutting moves could help the Falcons reach a new deal with quarterback Matt Ryan Raiders Authentic Jerseys , who can be a free agent after the 2018 season.

Shelby, who signed a four-year, $18 million deal in 2016 Brock Boeser Jersey , with $7.5 million guaranteed, was set to earn $4.5 million in each of the next two seasons.

The Falcons will save $3.25 million in cap space with Shelby's release and $3.5 million with Toilolo's release. The team will still have a $2.5 million charge in dead money for Shelby and $2 million for Toilolo that will count against the cap.

Shelby, who turns 29 on Sunday Youth Antonio Brown Jersey , had 30 tackles and one sack in 2017. He started 14 games. An Achilles tendon injury limited him to six games in 2016.

He spent his first four seasons with the Miami Dolphins.

The Falcons said Toilolo will be released at the start of the new league year on March 14 with a post-June 1 designation.

Toilolo, a fourth-round pick in 2013, had 74 receptions for 723 yards and seven touchdowns in five seasons. He had 11 catches for 55 yards and two touchdowns in 2017 while sharing time with Austin Hooper and Eric Saubert.

The Jets gave Sam Darnold the start at quarterback in Washington on Thursday night and the rookie played the entire first half before giving way to Teddy Bridgewater.

Darnold’s night wound up covering three possessions and ended with his first interception of his NFL career. Washington defensive back Deshazor Everett tipped a pass inteded for Jermaine Kearse into the hands of defensive back Troy Apke to end a second quarter drive that had moved into the red zone.

Darnold was 8-of-11 for 62 yards overall and led the Jets to a field goal on their second possession. He went 5-of-5 for 45 yards on that scoring drive Adidas Evgeny Kuznetsov Jersey , but the first two drives ended with third down sacks and one of them may have been attributable to Darnold holding the ball too long against the Washington defense.

Jets coach Todd Bowles told Lisa Salters of ESPN that the rookie’s performance was “not bad.” Bridgewater’s performance will likely have some bearing on how “not bad” helps or hurts Darnold’s bid for the starting job.

Messagepar laiyongcai92 » Jeu 11 Oct 2018, 04:54

Giants coach Pat Shurmur says he expects Odell Beckham Jr. to attend offseason workouts when they start in April.

Trade rumors are surrounding the controversial star receiver and there has been strong speculation Beckham will hold out during training camp because he doesn't want to play the fifth and final year of his rookie deal without a new contract.

"All reports are he will be ready to go as we get going Sam Darnold Color Rush Jersey ," Shurmur said Tuesday morning at the NFL meetings. "There are steps he has to take. All indications are he will be back healthy by the time we start playing in September."

Beckham is recovering from a broken left ankle that forced him to miss the last 12 games in 2017. Giants owner John Mara on Sunday expressed his disappointment in Beckham, saying no player is untouchable.

"That's another way of saying we're going to try to do everything we can to make our team better," Shurmur said. "I understand that. It's sort of refreshing to know that we're going to look under any rock and turn over every stone that we can to make sure we make the New York football Giants the best team we can make it."

Beckham recently was seen in a video in bed with a woman and what appeared to be white powder, though the timing of the video and its content is uncertain. Mara said Beckham uses "bad judgment" too often.

"I think it's important that you get all the information," Shurmur said. "Who knows how that video appeared? We all understand that there are certain ways we need to act and certain things we don't want to be doing."

Shurmur met with Beckham in Los Angeles earlier in the offseason when he went to California to visit college prospects.

"He's a very charismatic guy. I think he really cares. I'm looking forward to working with him," Shurmur said. "It's important as coaches and players and anybody who is working together to visit and get a chance to know one another. I really don't think you can know somebody by seeing reports, reading reports, hearing what people think and say. I think it's important Cal Clutterbuck Jersey , especially in the player-coach relationship, to get to know him."

Beckham was the 2014 Offensive Rookie of the Year and has been New York's best offensive weapon when healthy. In his first three seasons, he had 288 receptions for 4,122 yards and 35 touchdowns. But he's known as much for his highlight-reel catches as incidents that are distractions.

"We always want weapons," Shurmur said. "He's been an outstanding player, especially his first three years. We want really, really good players. We want guys who are passionate about playing the game. We want guys that understand the importance of relationships, which means they want to be coached. And we want guys that understand what it is to be a good teammate."

The Baltimore Orioles go for their first series sweep of the season against an unlikely opponent.

The O’s Tarvarius Moore Jersey , who entered the weekend with the worst record in the American League, will try to take three straight from the Atlanta Braves, who began the series tied for the best record in the National League. Atlanta has been swept only once this season.

Baltimore will send right-hander David Hess (2-3, 4.82 ERA) against Atlanta’s Brandon McCarthy (5-3, 4.89) on Sunday at SunTrust Park.

Baltimore has found its offense in Atlanta, scoring 17 runs in the first two games. Mark Trumbo had a grand slam Saturday and Chris Davis returned from an eight-game hiatus to hit a home run Friday and drive in three runs Saturday.

“I feel a lot better,” said Davis, who entered the series hitting .150. “I feel like I’m getting there Jalen Reeves-Maybin Jersey , starting to get that calm and easy feel. It feels good to contribute to two wins.”

Baltimore had lost eight of its last 10 games entering the series, but their two losses in the previous series against Washington had been by three or fewer runs.

“We have been playing better, more like we need to play and how to play,” Baltimore manager Buck Showalter said. “I’m happy that they are getting their turn. The mood and the effort, that’s been on-going, but how much of that can you take? You worry about that because nobody is happy about losing.”

Hess will be making his eighth start and has made quality starts in four of them. He’s received an average of 4.10 runs in support. But his last victory came on May 25 against Tampa Bay.

The rookie will be making his first career start against Atlanta. He has started seven games this season and has struggled in the last two outings.

He allowed five runs in 4 2/3 innings against Washington on Tuesday and five runs in 3 1/3 innings against Boston on June 12. His last four starts have reaped two losses and two no-decisions.

McCarthy was on the verge of losing his spot in the rotation, but received a reprieve when rookie Mike Soroka had to be placed on the disabled list for the second time with shoulder soreness. Otherwise, he would likely have been moved to the bullpen.

McCarthy threw 5 2/3 innings in his last start against San Diego on June 15 and allowed two runs. In 14 starts Adidas Gabriel Landeskog Jersey , McCarthy has allowed three or fewer earned runs in 10 games.

McCarthy has made 10 career appearances (eight starts) against Baltimore and compiled a 2-2 record with a 4.28 ERA. He has not faced the Orioles since 2014.

Atlanta would like to see McCarthy pitch deeper in the game in order to give the bullpen a break. Luke Jackson, Sam Freeman and Peter Moylan have pitched the last two days and are likely unavailable. Concern remains about closer Arodys Vizcaino, who has complained of right shoulder soreness and hasn’t pitched in six days.

Vizcaino has suffered shoulder issues this season and had a cortisone injection this week.

“It’s one of those spots in the year with him,” manager Brian Snitker said. “We went through it a couple times with him last year. There are times he’s going to have to be down, just to get him through the year.”

Indianapolis Colts coach Frank Reich believes his starting quarterback will soon be throwing.

Andrew Luck will get the last word on when it happens.

Luck continues to rehabilitate from shoulder surgery that took place more than 16 months ago Authentic Mike Cammalleri Jersey , cost him all of last season and almost all of this year's offseason workouts. The Colts will hold a three-day mandatory mini-camp next week, and he's not expected to throw then, either.

But he has been working out at the team complex since April, has attended team and position meetings and been learning Reich's new offense. The hope is he will start throwing sometime between mid-June and late July when the Colts report to training camp.

"I think we're real close. Again, I've never been through what he has been through. I could sit here and say what I think but It has to come from down in here," Reich said, pointing to his heart. "There's an instinct as a player that you know when you're ready to go and you keep testing it and testing it and you work with the people you're working with and you trust your instinct when you're ready to go."

The optimism sounds all too familiar to skeptical Colts' fans.

They repeatedly heard similar comments from then coach Chuck Pagano and general manager Chris Ballard after Luck had surgery for his partially torn labrum in January 2017. Yet he didn't begin throwing until early October, was shut down after two weeks because of lingering soreness in his right shoulder.

He missed all 16 games and spent the last month of season rehabbing in Europe.

Luck has continued recovering this offseason while Ballard and Reich have continued to suggest this time will be different. One indication the Colts expect Luck to come back came on draft weekend when they had a franchise-record 11 selections in the seven-round draft era and didn't take a quarterback.

Still, Luck will have the final say about the timing of his return.

"He certainly has a big say in it. He has to," said Reich, a former NFL quarterback. "Got to trust the player. Really Authentic Dorance Armstrong Jr. Jersey , any player who's injured goes through the same thing. The doctors kind of give the thumbs up and there's a lot to say and you get the tests and you feel all that stuff, but at the end of the day the player's got to feel ready to go. That's been my experience at every position."

Luck hasn't spoken to reporters since early April.

Back then, he said he felt good and hoped he would be full-go for training camp.

So do those around him.

"We feel really good and really confident with where we're at," Reich said.

Recently signed defensive end Chris McCain also missed Thursday's workout and it's unclear when he'll return.

The Indianapolis Star and Los Angeles Times reporter earlier this week that McCain faces two misdemeanor battery charges in California stemming from an alleged incident on Jan. 7, when he was still a member of the Los Angeles Chargers. He is accused of spitting on and grabbing the neck of Arpi Davtyan, The Star reported.

McCain, who has denied the charges, is scheduled to be arraigned July 13.

It's unclear if the Colts knew about the allegations when they signed McCain. The team issued a statement Tuesday, saying it was still gathering information.

"We sat down with Chris and we just all agreed that this would be the best thing," Reich said Thursday explaining McCain and the Colts mutually agreed he should return home until there is a resolution. "Felt like it was best that we get this thing settled and work through it. I feel comfortable with that."

The Minnesota Vikings have agreed to terms on a five-year contract extension with Danielle Hunter, making him one of the top 10 highest-paid defensive ends in the NFL while securing another core player before he could reach free agency.

The deal Baker Mayfield Jersey Elite , which was done on Wednesday, is worth up to $72 million, according to a person with knowledge of the contract who spoke on condition of anonymity because the terms weren't disclosed by the team.

The deal includes $40 million in guaranteed money, with a $15 million signing bonus. The annual average worth is more than $14 million, on par with fellow Vikings defensive end Everson Griffen.

"I had to get this out of the way," Hunter said, acknowledging relief to have signed before training camp. "I didn't want to be bothered by anything."

Hunter has 25陆 sacks, three forced fumbles and two recovered fumbles in three seasons, after being drafted in the third round in 2015 out of LSU. Still only 23 years old, Hunter was a top priority to retain at a premium position. Griffen is 30, and primary backup Brian Robison is 35.

"Just looking forward to getting him locked in and what he's going to continue to bring not only to this defense and this football team Nikolaj Ehlers Jersey , but also the type of character that he brings," general manager Rick Spielman said.

Over those past three seasons, Hunter and Griffen have combined for 57 sacks, the second most by a pair of teammates in the league behind Geno Atkins and Carlos Dunlap of the Cincinnati Bengals (58).

The pass rush and run defense provided by these bookends has been a significant part of coach Mike Zimmer's unit that gave up the fewest points and yards in the NFL last season.

"We build a bond together on defense," Hunter said. "We go out there, we know we're brothers. We fight together. We do our assignments. On and off the field we're really, really close.

Hunter was third in the NFL with 12陆 sacks in 2016, the most by a defensive end. Born in Jamaica and raised just outside of Houston, the 6-foot-5, 252-pound Hunter was a classic late bloomer the Vikings targeted with confidence he'd continue to develop with the right coaching to complement his measurable physical skills. Spielman and his scouts have been proven right with that pick.

"I kind of came in with the mindset of just playing football. I had a whole bunch of people in front of me, older guys that were able to show me the way Zdeno Chara Jersey , good coaches and a good coaching staff," Hunter said. "The only thing I could do is just come in here and focus and play football."

The Vikings extended middle linebacker Eric Kendricks earlier this offseason. Outside linebacker Anthony Barr and wide receiver Stefon Diggs are their other two standouts on expiring contracts, with space under the salary cap dwindling. Signing both of them to new long-term deals might not be possible.

They're plenty happy to at least have Hunter around well into the next decade, though. According to statistics compiled by Vikings coaches, Hunter also has 125 quarterback hurries and 147 total tackles. He has never missed an NFL game to injury, with his only two absences coming in 2015 when he was on the inactive list in the first month of his rookie year.

"It's all about keep continuing to improve my game. I've got to go out there and do what the coaches tell me to do. Now that I have this I can't relax," Hunter said. "I have to keep pounding and grinding."

Ramon Foster can still hear the sound of his right knee buckling underneath him.

It's the first time in the Pittsburgh Steeler guard's two-plus decades playing football he'd ever heard one of his joints go "pop pop pop."

Lying on the field at Saint Vincent College after the ugly collision during the opening week of training camp last month Marquez Valdes-Scantling Jersey , Foster feared the worst.

"A lot of things go through your mind," Foster said. "You don't want to go through your whole entire career and end it on an injury or have to go to (injured reserve). I've always been a gamer. I've always been a guy that shows up."

Something that Foster will continue to do for the AFC North champions now that the right knee that bent backward so awkwardly has mostly healed. The nine-year veteran practiced with his teammates on Monday for the first time since he hyperextended and suffered a bone bruise in the knee on July 28.

The 32-year-old is optimistic he'll be available when the Steelers open the regular season at Cleveland on Sept. 9, though a lot of it will depend on how the knee responds to practice.

Though he feels good, Foster is also being cautious. He doesn't want to rush back at the expense of his long-term health.

"This season is challenging," Foster said. "My goal is to be 100 percent right so I don't have to take a week off at some point for general soreness. We'll see how we feel (Tuesday)."

Foster is the longest-tenured member of one of the NFL's top offensive lines. He created a role for himself after making the team as an undrafted free agent in 2009 and is entering the final season of a three-year deal he signed in 2016. He shrugged when asked if the injury ended any chance at signing a new contract before the regular season starts.

"We're at a point now where if it happens, it happens and if not, it's up to me to have a great season," Foster said. "The way the market is now Authentic Dallas Goedert Jersey , we'll see how it goes."

Foster is simply relieved it's even an option and is well aware of how narrowly he avoided a more harrowing outcome. When coach Mike Tomlin reviewed the play during a film session with the entire team, he paused at the moment Foster's right knee bent backward awkwardly.

"My foot was in the ground barely turning," Foster said. "Nobody said they could look at it, so for me to be practicing today is truly a blessing."

Foster has spent the majority of the past month in the trainer's room recuperating, a process he said he "hated every minute of."

Still, he understands it's a small price to pay. Enormously popular with his teammates, Foster noted an uptick in chatter when he lined up on Monday.

"The thing I always say to myself is, 'When I'm done Adam Larsson Jersey , I don't want to be a guy that is just someone they forget about,'" Foster said. "Clearly I've made my mark on some guys because they said practice wasn't the same. It was fun to be back."

Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston has been suspended for the first three games of the season. Most stories have said that means Ryan Fitzpatrick will start Weeks 1-3, while Winston will start Week Four. That may not be the case.

Although the Buccaneers don’t appear ready to move on from Winston, as some in Tampa are calling on them to do, they might not be ready to go to Winston immediately when he returns, either.

There are a lot of reasons for that, starting with the basic facts of the Buccaneers’ schedule: The Bucs play on Monday night in Week Three, which means that after Winston starts his suspension at the conclusion of the preseason Youth Mikko Koivu Jersey , he can’t return to the team until Tuesday, September 25. So the Bucs will be on a short work week heading into their Week Four game at Chicago on Sunday, September 30. Would the Bucs want to throw Winston in on a short work week, after three weeks off?

After that game against the Bears, the Buccaneers are on their bye week. So it might make more sense for them to play Fitzpatrick in Week Four, then give Winston time to get ready during the Week Five bye before he returns to the starting lineup in Week Six.

Of course, that assumes that Winston is going to return to the starting lineup at all. What if Fitzpatrick plays well and has the Buccaneers’ offense humming? Would the Bucs stick with the hot hand?

Ordinarily they wouldn’t: You don’t keep your 24-year-old former first overall pick on the bench in favor of a 35-year-old backup. But Winston’s contract makes the decision a little more difficult because Winston would be guaranteed a salary of $20.9 million in 2019 if he suffers a serious injury in 2018. If the Buccaneers aren’t absolutely certain they believe in Winston as the face of their franchise for years to come, they may decide it’s not worth the risk of putting him on the field and perhaps seeing him suffer an injury that would trigger that $20.9 million guarantee.

Although the circumstances were different Tavon Young Jersey , the thinking was the same in Washington in 2015, when Robert Griffin III was slated to be the starter, only to be demoted to third string and deactivated for the entire season. Once the team had decided Griffin was not its quarterback of the future, it couldn’t risk an injury that would trigger the enormous fifth-year injury guarantee that highly drafted players like Griffin (and Winston) have.

So while the most likely scenario remains that Winston returns to the Buccaneers and resumes his spot atop the depth chart in Week Four, that is by no means a guarantee. The Bucs may decide that they’re done with Winston.

Although it is definitely not uncommon for offensive linemen or defensive players to go high in the NFL draft Youth Fred Warner Jersey , and even get picked first overall, we as fans mostly pay attention to the stats of so-called "skill players." And why not? They are, after all, responsible for putting most of the points on the board. Now that would normally include rookie quarterbacks, running聽backs, wide receivers, and tight ends,聽but for the sake of simplifying things in this list, we're going to eliminate Gronk and co. from the conversation and focus mainly on the QBs, RBs, and WRs that were picked high in the past 20 drafts.

When choosing quarterbacks, running聽backs, and wide receivers for this list Authentic Joe Pavelski Jersey , we didn't just look for the player with the worst career numbers. We also considered whether these players lasted long in the league or if they were out of the NFL in just a few short seasons. We considered whether their lack of success was related to poor attitude, lack of skill, or just plain聽bad luck. Indeed, there were many mitigating factors to consider,聽but in the end, we came up with one first-round skill player per draft class who was less productive than the others. No, not the聽biggest聽bust per se,聽but the least productive, mostly, but not exclusively in terms of career statistics.

We're going to聽be listing these least productive skill players down for the past 20 NFL drafts prior to this year,聽because of course, there's no way to accurately predict which QB, RB Authentic John Tavares Jersey , or WR will聽be the least productive for the class of 2018 unless they've actually played more than a few regular season games.

IRVINE, Calif. (AP) — While Aaron Donald’s second consecutive contract holdout drags deep into training camp, Todd Gurley and the rest of the Los Angeles Rams‘ offense have identified a silver lining to the persistent absence of the NFL’s defensive player of the year.

“We were talking about that last night,” Gurley said with a grin. “We were like, ‘Literally, if A.D. was here, he would (mess) up the whole practice.’ Because it’s like, you get the handoff and he’s right there. A guy like that, you have to sit him back and tell him to tone it down a little bit just so you can get some good reps.”

Although Donald’s menacing presence looms large in his teammates’ minds, he sometimes seems a distant figure to the Rams, who have completed their entire offseason program and all but the final few practices of training camp without their All-Pro defensive tackle. His teammates check Twitter and ask each other for news about the negotiations, but significant updates have been scarce.

Donald is holding out while seeking a contract that would make him one of the NFL’s highest-paid players regardless of position. The Rams and Donald’s representation have made almost no public pronouncements about the state of their negotiations, and coach Sean McVay dutifully provides daily updates about the talks despite having no new information almost every day.

Something appeared to move last week when general manager Les Snead said the sides were “in the same ZIP Code Authentic Kirk Cousins Jersey , area, ballpark,” and McVay expressed optimism about increased momentum.

But until a significant move happens, the Rams will wait: Ndamukong Suh will continue to practice without his new teammate alongside him, while Gurley and Jared Goff will continue to practice without the threat of Donald looming just across the line.

“We’ve talked about that for two offseasons now,” Goff said. “It’s not nice not having him here, (but) it’s nice being able to get off some good plays and not have to worry about him ruining the play, I think is a better way to put it. Yeah, we miss him and hope he comes back soon.”

The Rams have designs on Super Bowl contention after their breakthrough year under McVay, and they downplay the notion that Donald’s continued absence will hurt their plans in any significant way. Donald didn’t rejoin the Rams last season until the day before their opener, and he still had no problem fitting into new defensive coordinator Wade Phillips’ scheme once he returned to the field in Week 2.

With a full year of Phillips’ coaching behind him, Donald should know what to do from the moment he arrives. McVay also said the Rams aren’t worried about Donald being in top physical shape, since they know he is working out aggressively at home in Pittsburgh.

Yet the Rams obviously would prefer to build their defense around several weeks of work and film study with Donald. McVay acknowledged he speaks to Donald regularly Jakob Silfverberg Jersey , but the coach largely exchanges pleasantries and inquires about Donald’s family instead of asking about contract talks.

When Donald reports, McVay laughs at the notion it would disrupt anything about the defending NFC West champions’ preparations.

“That would be a disruption that would be more than welcomed right now,” said McVay, who had been disappointed with his club’s focus in practice earlier in the week.

The Rams have already showed their willingness to ink long-term contracts during this offseason when they signed Gurley and receiver Brandin Cooks to lengthy, lucrative deals.

Donald missed a reporting deadline last week that consigns him to restricted free agent status in the upcoming offseason, but neither side appears to be worried about it. The Rams have always said they would prefer a long-term deal with Donald, but they also have the option of using their franchise tag on him in 2019.

Until Donald and the Rams figure out a way forward, Gurley will continue to burst through the line at practice without worrying about Donald — and McVay will continue to answer questions about the negotiations in each of his daily media briefings.

“I don’t really know anything else,” the second-year coach said with a laugh.

The Miami Dolphins are ready to add two receivers after trading Jarvis Landry Youth Bradley Chubb Jersey , and the likely newcomers include one of Tom Brady's favorite targets.

Former New England Patriots receiver Danny Amendola and ex-Kansas City Chiefs wideout Albert Wilson are discussing contract offers and are likely to sign with the Dolphins when the NFL's new year begins Wednesday, a person familiar with the negotiations said Tuesday. The person confirmed the talks to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because there was no final agreement.

Wilson's contract would be a $24 million, three-year deal, a second person said.

Miami earlier agreed to trade Landry Authentic Customized Eagles Jerseys , a three-time Pro Bowl receiver, to the Cleveland Browns for two draft picks.

On the eve of free agency, the Dolphins released veteran linebacker Lawrence Timmons as expected. Reserve safety Walt Aikens discussed re-signing with Miami and is likely to reach a deal, a person familiar with the negotiations said.

Amendola Womens Greg Olsen Jersey , 32, is a nine-year NFL veteran with 426 career receptions and 19 touchdowns, and since 2013 he has played in 13 postseason games with Brady and New England. Last year, Amendola caught 61 passes for 659 yards.

Wilson is from Port St. Lucie Leonard Fournette Jersey , Florida. In four seasons with the Chiefs he caught 124 passes for 1,544 yards, including 42 receptions for 554 yards last year.

Timmons' departure clears $5.5 million in cap space for Miami. He went AWOL on the eve of last year's opener, was briefly suspended and played poorly when he returned.

Aikens has been with the Dolphins since his rookie season in 2014 and has become a key contributor on special teams.

The Dallas Cowboys have released 10-year veteran cornerback Orlando Scandrick Thomas Vanek Jersey , another move toward getting younger in the secondary.

Scandrick had asked for a release that the Cowboys made official with Saturday's move. The post-June 1 designation gives Dallas $3 million in salary cap space this season with a $1.6 million cap charge in 2019.

The 31-year-old Scandrick was a fifth-round pick by the Cowboys in 2008 and had eight interceptions in 125 games. He missed all of 2015 after tearing ligaments in his right knee late in training camp and struggled with injuries the past two seasons.

Dallas drafted cornerbacks Chidobe Awuzie and Jourdan Lewis in the second and third rounds last year. The Cowboys are moving 2015 first-round pick Byron Jones back to cornerback from safety and have other young defensive backs as well.
