BOSTON (AP) — The Bruins were in line to make a big splash at the trade deadline to improve their scoring for the stretch run of the regular season. After seeing some of the potential names on their wish list land elsewhere Tim Schaller Jersey Womens , they settled for adding a veteran that didn’t cause a major disruption to their roster. The Bruins acquired forward Marcus Johansson in a trade with New Jersey on Monday, sending the Devils a second-round pick this year and a fourth-round pick in 2020.Wingers Wayne Simmonds of the Philadelphia Flyers and Mark Stone of the Senators were considered possible trade targets for Boston. But Simmonds was dealt by Philadelphia to the Nashville Predators and Ottawa traded Stone to the Vegas Golden Knights.Boston wound up with a left wing in the 28-year-old Johansson who has appeared in 48 games with the Devils this season, totaling 12 goals and 15 assists.“We were in on a bunch of things to explore but we would have liked to improve our club for now and going forward without necessarily handcuffing ourselves,” Bruins general manager Don Sweeney said.Johansson was selected 24th overall by the Washington Capitals in the first round of the 2009 draft. He had his best offensive season during 2016-17 with Washington, recording 24 goals and 34 assists with a plus-25 rating while playing in all 82 regular-season games. There may be a few fences for Bruins star forward Brad Marchand to mend with Johansson once he arrives. The NHL suspended Marchand five games without pay last season for elbowing Johansson in the head, causing him to miss 28 games with a concussion. In announcing the suspension , the league’s department of player safety ruled Marchand’s hit was not defensive or accidental.Johansson later called Marchand’s hit unnecessary.“There was no point in doing that,” Johansson said last March. “There was no hockey play there whatsoever. I think it’s sad to see that there’s still guys out there that are trying to hurt other guys.”Johansson is in the final season of a three-year, $13.8 million deal he signed with the Capitals. New Jersey will retain 40 percent of his remaining salary. But Sweeney said the fact that Johansson is leaving a New Jersey team in last place in the Metropolitan Division goes a long way.“We were looking for somebody who would be excited to join our club,” Sweeney said. “I think (Johansson’s) quick line was ‘I’d much rather be playing with Marchand than against him.'”Boston is second in the Atlantic Division. The Bruins had a seven-game win streak snapped but earned a point for the 13th consecutive game in their 2-1 shootout loss to St. Louis on Saturday. Boston hosts San Jose on Tuesday.Notes: The Bruins also announced Monday that forwards Peter Cehlarik and Karson Kuhlman were being sent down to (AHL) Providence. LOS ANGELES (AP) — The Tampa Bay Lightning got off to a strong start last season Jay Beagle Jersey Womens , only to lose momentum after Christmas. They aren’t about to let that happen again, as the Los Angeles Kings found out.Nikita Kucherov had a goal and three assists as the Lightning kept steamrolling along, beating the Kings 6-2 on Thursday night for their seventh straight victory.“This group has been together for quite a while, so we know what we’re capable of,” Tampa Bay forward Ryan Callahan said. “Make sure we continue to rise and continue to play well, not have that dip we had last year, and so far out of the break we’ve done that.”The NHL-leading Lightning have earned at least one point in 16 consecutive games — the longest streak in the league this season. They are 15-0-1 during the run.“We’re on a good stretch, obviously, and we’re having fun with it,” Callahan said. “We’re coming to the rink and we’re ready to work is the biggest thing. Tonight was no different.”Steven Stamkos added a goal and two assists Curtis McKenzie Jersey Womens , and Brayden Point had a goal and an assist for Tampa Bay. Andrei Vasilevskiy made 28 saves for his sixth consecutive win.Austin Wagner and Drew Doughty scored for the Kings, who have lost three of four. Jonathan Quick stopped 27 shots. The Lightning jumped out in front 3-0 in the first period, with Kucherov getting his 400th NHL point by scoring during a 5-on-3 power play at 6:28.“He’s dangerous every time he’s on the ice, and you give our team a 5-on-3 there at the beginning, you kind of expect Kucher and these guys to put it in the back of the net,” Mathieu Joseph said.Kucherov has eight goals and 19 assists during a 12-game point streak. He has scored in five straight games and has seven consecutive multipoint games, getting at least four points in three of his past five.Point made it 2-0 at 7:53 during the same two-man advantage, and Callahan scored on a breakaway at 14:05.“When you play a team like that, you know you have to play well or they can make you look bad in your own rink, so our guys were ready ’cause they knew that could happen Nick Holden Jersey Womens ,” Kings coach Willie Desjardins said.Ryan McDonagh pushed it to 4-0 just 25 seconds into the second period before Wagner scored at 7:55 for the Kings. Stamkos scored a power-play goal at 17:05.Joseph extended the lead to 6-1 at 10:04 of the third period as the Lightning scored at least six goals for the fourth time in five games. As dominant as the offense was, Callahan was just as pleased with the defensive effort.Tampa Bay has allowed three goals over the past two games after conceding a total of 10 in the previous two outings, though Doughty scored a second goal for Los Angeles on the power play at 17:36.“The quicker you nip it and the quicker you realize areas that you need to improve in even when you’re winning, the better off you are as a team and we’re doing that,” Callahan said.NOTES: Kucherov is the first player from the 2011 draft to reach the 400-point milestone. … Point has three goals and 10 assists during an eight-game point streak. … Lightning D Victor Hedman had an assist for the fifth straight game. … Kings forward Dustin Brown played in his 1,077th career game, tying Luc Robitaille for second-most in Kings history.UP NEXTLightning: Conclude their three-game California road trip at San Jose on Saturday.Kings: Host the Edmonton Oilers on Saturday.

Upon failing to reach the 900-point

BUFFALO Womens Corey Perry Jersey , N.Y. (AP) — Upon failing to reach the 900-point plateau in Chicago before the Blackhawks opened a three-game road trip, Patrick Kane couldn’t think of a second-best place to do so than during his annual Buffalo homecoming.“You come here and you do it back at home with a lot of people here and a lot of people knowing that’s the 900th, it’s pretty exciting. It makes it even better,” Kane said. “Yeah, it would’ve been nice to get it before, but now that it happened here, you think it worked out for a reason.”The 30-year-old from south Buffalo put on a show by scoring two goals and two assists in blasting through the milestone during a 7-3 win over the Sabres on Friday night.Kane capped the win with an empty-net goal in upping his career total to 903 points . He became the youngest U.S.-born player to reach 900 points, and moved ahead of Tony Amonte for 12th place among Americans.Kane also extended his point streak to 10 games, in which he has combined for nine goals and 16 assists.Though he was unable to make a side trip to his favorite pizza place Kyle Brodziak Jersey Womens , Kane had time to meet with about 50 members of his family and friends in the southeast corner of the arena before the Blackhawks flew to Minnesota for their game against the Wild on Saturday night.“It would’ve been nice to sneak it in,” Kane said, of popping in for a slice and wings. “Just going to have to wait for the summer.”Connor Murphy sealed the victory by converting Kane’s pass into the middle and snapping in a 30-footer through a screen to put Chicago up 5-3 with 8:36 remaining.Drake Caggiula had a goal and two assists, Brandon Saad scored twice and Duncan Keith also scored. Cam Ward stopped 40 shots and the Blackhawks avoided a brief scare before matching a season-best three-game win streak while coming off a nine-day break.Jason Pominville and Kyle Okposo scored goals 3:37 apart in cutting Chicago’s lead to 4-3 with 12:44 left. Jack Eichel also scored in a game the Sabres trailed 3-0 through the first 26:06 and 4-1 through two periods.Carter Hutton was yanked after allowing four goals on 22 shots through 40 minutes. Linus Ullmark finished, stopping five of seven shots in the third period. This was not how the Sabres intended to open a seven-game homestand while playing their first game in Buffalo in nearly three weeks, following a five-game road trip which also spanned an 11-day break.“You can’t win a game giving up seven goals,” Eichel said. “I think the learning experiences are far over now. We’re 50-some odd games into the season. … These mistakes are costing us points and that’s points in the standings that we can’t lose.”Buffalo dropped to 2-6 in its past eight and is 8-14-7 since matching a franchise-best 10-game winning streak in November. The Sabres failed to capitalize on numerous chances in the first period, and were outshooting the Blackhawks 14-6 before Caggiula scored with 1:22 left. Caggiula was set up alone in front by Gustav Forsling, who intercepted Sam Reinhart’s weak breakout pass attempt at the left point.Jeff Skinner’s turnover led to Erik Gustafsson setting up Kane for a breakaway goal 50 seconds into the second period. Keith Jakob Silfverberg Jersey , with an assist from Kane, converted his own rebound to put Chicago up 3-0 a little over four minutes later to break open the game. The 30-year-old Kane reached the 30-goal mark for the fourth time in his 12-year career. And he continued his domination in Buffalo, where Kane has scored a point in each of his eight visits in combining for seven goals and six assists.“Obviously, nice to score on your first shift in the second to give you some confidence,” Kane said, acknowledging he’s usually nervous before each game he plays in Buffalo.“I’m really happy for him,” Blackhawks coach Jeremy Colliton said. “It’s hard to come back and play in your hometown. Sometimes you’re pressing and it always doesn’t work.”NOTES: Kane became just the third Blackhawks player with five career point streaks of 10 games or longer, joining Denis Savard, who did it 11 times http://www.officialducks.com/authentic-adidas-john-gibson-jersey , and Bobby Hull (five). … Saad played his 500th career game. … Okposo scored on the power play, Buffalo’s first goal with the man advantage in seven games. The Sabres converted 1 of 3 power-play chances to improve their anemic production to 10 of 74 over their past27 games.UP NEXTBlackhawks: At Minnesota Wild on Saturday.Sabres: Enter three-day break before hosting Wild on Tuesday night. Safety Earl Thomas has flirted

Messagepar laiyongcai92 » Lun 20 Mai 2019, 08:14

with the notion of joining the Cowboys at points over the last couple of years and the Cowboys have shown interest Tre Flowers Jersey , which has plenty of people looking in Dallas’ direction with Thomas heading for free agency in March. Those looking for that move to Texas will happen will likely take word about where Thomas and his wife have enrolled their kids in school as a sign. Mike Fisher of 247 Sports reports that Thomas is in Austin and has put his kids in school there. It may not turn out to be much of a sign. Thomas went to the University of Texas and has gone back to his alma mater to work out in past offseasons, so it’s no sure thing that he’s going to be there come the fall. The big difference from past offseasons is that Thomas is going to be a free agent and that there’s little chance that he’s going to be heading back to Seattle for another year with the Seahawks. That makes this his best chance yet to return to Texas on a full-time basis, although there will likely be suitors from outside the state whose offers will help determine how everything plays out. Last week during team drills with the Minnesota Vikings, Adam Thielen stretched out his body and dived to try to catch an off-target pass.Thielen immediately questioned aloud the wisdom of his decision to risk pain when ultimately the completion didn't matter. Thielen, though, couldn't resist. There's hardly a ball in the air he doesn't believe he can grab, and this is anything but blind faith.Through six games, Thielen leads the NFL with 58 receptions and 712 yards. He is on a staggering pace to reach 155 catches and 1,899 yards over a full season, which would break the record for receptions (Marvin Harrison, 143 in 2002) and fall 66 yards short of the best for yards (Calvin Johnson, 1 Barkevious Mingo Jersey ,964 in 2012)."Adam has a great heart. He's really a tough kid," said coach Mike Zimmer, who revealed the anecdote about Thielen's ill-advised practice dive. "He comes over to me and talks to me during the game about stuff that's going on, and it's always about, 'These guys can't guard me.'"That's a brash declaration, decidedly un-Minnesotan, but this lifelong native of the state isn't deluding himself. He's not the biggest or the fastest of his peers around the league, the biggest reason he went undrafted as an NCAA Division II prospect at Minnesota State, but his route-running ability is just about unparalleled."That dog mindset, as far as how he approaches the game and how he wants to win each and every rep, that's something we have in common and that's something that goes far with me especially because I know how he feels," said fellow Vikings wide receiver Stefon Diggs Sweezy Jersey , who is on pace for 107 catches and 1,160 yards himself. "I know if there's anything bothering him or anything like that, he still never makes an excuse and he makes the plays. At the end of the day, we all only care about making the play."Thielen has the most receptions through six games in NFL history, and he is the first player since 1961 to start a season with at least 100 receiving yards in each of the first six games. The 28-year-old is on track to set all kinds of Vikings records, no small feats with a franchise that has featured Pro Football Hall of Fame members Cris Carter and Randy Moss. This is not where Thielen's motivation originates, though. He is noticeably uncomfortable when asked by reporters about such statistical accomplishments."I'm just trying to help my team win games," Thielen said. "Honestly, if you lead the league in receiving but you're not winning games, it's not a fun business to be in, so it doesn't really matter what your stats are."His take was no different on Sunday after he had 11 receptions for 123 yards and a touchdown that helped the Vikings beat Arizona 27-17 ."I feel like I sound like a broken record, but it's such a team stat Duane Brown Jersey ," Thielen said . "When you have great players around you, that's the only way you can do those things. We have so many great players and great guys that are selfless."There was no better example of Thielen's impact on the success of the Vikings' offense than early in the third quarter against the Cardinals as they clung to a 13-10 lead. Latavius Murray had just taken a 4-yard loss on a smothered toss sweep on second down, bringing up third-and-13 from the Vikings 42.Kirk Cousins was hit by Chandler Jones as he released the pass, one of 15 times he sent the ball Thielen's way in a tight space in the zone coverage. With outstretched arms and dragging toes, Thielen secured the catch right in front of the first-down marker before tumbling out of bounds.Cardinals coach Steve Wilks challenged the call from the opposite sideline, perhaps assuming the difficulty of the task would reveal a bobble on the replay, but there was none to be seen.Five plays later, Thielen hauled in a 13-yard touchdown pass from Cousins for a 10-point lead."It's kind of a hidden play because it's not the one that scored the points or the one that people will talk about," Cousins said, "but that is a big, big play."

There’s been ups and downs

Messagepar laiyongcai92 » Lun 20 Mai 2019, 08:59

There’s been ups and downs for San Francisco 49ers quarterback C.J. Beathard. Mostly downs. He was thrust into the starting role in 2017 and somewhat held things together. At least until Jimmy Garoppolo was ready to go. He’s again shoved into a starting role in 2018. He’s the best guy for the job Mike Person Jersey , because there’s no one else available better for the job. But he is not going to emerge as a QB1, he’s not going to be a savant teams will enter a bidding war to trade for. Beathard is a backup quarterback. There’s nothing wrong with it, but it’s something that has become apparent. His limitations were on full display Sunday in Sunday’s loss to the Arizona Cardinals; 14 for 28, 190 yards. For the full game. He’d have a few hot moments, like chucking it downfield for Marquise Goodwin, but he was dwarfed in the cold segments where he couldn’t trust his receivers and pull the trigger. Beathard held onto the ball far too long in plays where he needed to trust his receivers in stride and throw the ball. Whether this is a mental thing with the turnovers, or just how Beathard is as a quarterback doesn’t matter. He’s had a year to get things ironed out, but these issues still remain. These are throws Garoppolo could and would make. That’s why he’s the starting quarterback. And Beathard isn’t going to turn into Garoppolo. Beathard is the backup quarterback for a reason, and it’s the reasons above. A lot of this is plain ability and talent; if he was playing lights out for two seasons, we’d be having a very different conversation. He’s a backup. His job is to help out at meetings and step in when the starting quarterback is down. If anything the last few weeks has shown us, it’s that his role is almost solidified in the team. He knows Kyle Shanahan’s offense Nick Mullens Jersey White , he can take over midway or for an entire game, but asking him to be consistent week in and week out like the starter can is just something that isn’t possible. If it was, he’d be in a Nick Foles situation where the 49ers would be looking to trade, or be faced to pay him more money later on. There’s no one better to put in there either. Tom Savage is an even worse option and Nick Mullens? No. Just no. Beathard knows the offense, he probably contributes in the meeting rooms, and is doing the best he can with the tools he has. He was placed into an unfortunate situation where the talent around him, while improved, is still not where it needs to be and his limited ability cannot raise them the way Garoppolo can. Again, you saw why Garoppolo is the starter last season. CJ Beathard is not a bad quarterback. He’s a backup quarterback. And he’s playing far more than any backup quarterback should. We knew that going in. You want a bad quarterback?Go get me Nathan Peterman.Betting line growing for 49ers-Lions Fooch’s update: The line continues to grow. The line has climbed as high as seven points, with most sportsbooks between six and 6.5 points. Plenty of money coming in on the 49ers.24 hours ago, the San Francisco 49ers were sitting as a field goal favorite for their Week 2 matchup against the Detroit Lions. I figured a strong Monday Night Football performance might bring the line down a little. Turns out a strong MNF performance made a difference Roger Craig Jersey , just not like many of us expected. The 49ers are now 5.5 point favorites, according to sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark. The New York Jets pounded the Lions, and the game also resulted in a host of injuries for Detroit. Cornerback Darius Slay left with a head injury but returned, edge rusher Ezekiel Ansah left with a shoulder injury and did not return, and quarterback Matthew suffered a knee injury but continued, and later suffered a rib injury that cost him a few snaps.Slay and Stafford seem likely to play in Week 2, but Ansah is a serious question mark for the matchup. Public money was coming in on the 49ers at a field goal, but it will be worth tracking how the money moves with the line climbing. The line is moved to even out the money coming in so the sportsbook can be in line to profit regardless of who wins. After the Lions Monday night meltdown, sportsbooks have their work cut out for them.

Not the most popular Washington defensive back Chris Godwin Jersey , but Rapp could land on Tampa’s radar this draft season"WhiteFanposts Fanshots Sections 2016 NFL DraftInjuriesFree AgencyGame FilmBuccaneers Draft Profile: S Taylor RappNot the most popular Washington defensive back, but Rapp could land on Tampa’s radar this draft seasonEDTShareTweetShareShareBuccaneers Draft Profile: S Taylor RappKyle Terada-USA TODAY SportsThe Tampa Bay Buccaneers need someone to help bolster their secondary. Specifically, in the safety group, Justin Evans has loads of potential but injuries helped derail second-year growth in 2018.Outside of Evans, the Bucs are looking at a group of mostly unproven players who are either limited in experience or transplants who played elsewhere by position or location last season.Every year there’s a player who emerges during the draft evaluation process. Washington’s Taylor Rapp is one of those very players this year, and his emergence could land him in Florida come April 2019.TAYLOR RAPP’S CAREER Rapp played three years for the Washington Huskies. And I mean he played three years. Thirteen games in each of his three seasons to be exact, which he used to total more than 100 tackles, more than eight tackles for loss, six sacks and seven interceptions. In 2016, Rapp was named the Most Valuable Player of the PAC-12 Championship Game helping his Huskies squad beat the Colorado Buffaloes as the defense held their opponent to just ten points.Rapp had two interceptions in the game and returned one for a touchdown.PROSIf I could describe him simply to Buccaneers fans, I’d say he was the safety version of Adam Humphries.Dependable and constant even if he isn’t all that flashy and doesn’t make highlight reel plays all the time. What he does do is react instinctively to what he sees with confidence and gives his team solid play as a safety who fits best in the box as a run supporter or blitzer.Given his lack of prototypical size, someone like Deone Bucannon will help teach him the keys to succeeding in the NFL in spite of his size. Something else Bucs fans will love seeing if he dons their favorite uniform is his willingness to do basically whatever his team asks of him. Line up deep? Got it. Close to the line? Yep. Blitz from 10-yards off the line with maximum effort? He’ll do it. Special teams? He’s pretty good there too.I mean, the man does literally anything his coaches asks and rarely if ever looks out of his element. Kind of like Humphries.CONSHe’s undersized. But really, are we still in a place where this is a death sentence? I feel like every year we talk about a guy who is balling out but shouldn’t have because of his size.Ok then, so what else? Well, he’s not blessed with elite athleticism which forces him to lean on his instincts more than perhaps you’d like from someone who is very often in a position as the last or one of the last defenders on a given play.As he reads and reacts, if he overpursues or reads it wrong, he simply doesn’t have the recovery ability for it not to open a door for big plays or crucial conversions. Also, similar to Humphries, he’s a conservative type player. He’s going to make sure he makes the good play before trying to go for the big play. This can be good and this can be bad. If you need a clutch play from your safety Vernon Hargreaves Jersey , it’s less likely to come from him as he focuses on solid execution first and foremost. Of course, this could be taught behavior as well. So if a coach thinks he can get the dog in him to come out more, it could be a beautiful thing.WHY THE BUCCANEERS NEED HIMWhen you look at the Buccaneers’ relatively thin safety group it’s easy to see why the team needs more talent. However, do they need more young and unproven talent? This is the real question.Tampa Bay has been conservative in free-agency as expected, but right now the starting safety tandem appears to be Justin Evans coming off injury and....M.J. Stewart? The Bucs need a safety to play next to Evans. And honestly, when introducing more youth into an already young group it might be wise to target a guy who gives you what you expect every play rather than rolling the dice on a boom or bust type of prospect.WILL IT HAPPEN?As it stands now, I’m going to say no. Rapp is solid and definitely helped himself this draft season. He’s even broken into Daniel Jeremiah’s Top-50 as the 38th best player on his board.Of Rapp, Jeremiah writes,The real question is whether or not there’s some aggressiveness hiding in Rapp we just simply didn’t see during his time in Washington. If there is, then his football intelligence partnered with his confidence level could produce some highlight worthy plays which could get Bucs fans excited early on.Definitely know his name when day two at the NFL Draft comes around, just don’t go buying the custom jersey yet. Week 15 ended with the ninth loss of the year for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as they fell to the Baltimore Ravens and now stand at 5-9 on the season. Here are just five reasons things went down the way they did.THE PLAY: Win-MagicOn a sloppy day with freezing rain coming down on the players all game long, the pace was set from the very beginning. It would be more of a tractor pull than a sprint race.Five straight series ended with punts before the Baltimore Ravens fumbled the ball to the Bucs leading to the games first score. However, following a botched snap to hold exchange, the Ravens scored their own first touchdown of the game and took a one point lead late in the second quarter. With 3:20 remaining in the first half, Tampa Bay faced third-and-twenty and it seemed all but assured Baltimore would be getting the ball back with their lead intact and time to add to it.But then, this happened. After the run, catch and penalty, the Bucs gained 74-yards in all and ended up on the Ravens’ 11-yard line.As we’ve seen all-to-often in 2018, the team was unable to turn the red zone visit into a touchdown, and instead settled for three points giving the Bucs a 9-7 lead with less than two minutes remaining in the half.THE PLAY: A defense by any other nameEarlier in the year Donovan Smith Jersey , Buccaneers head coach wondered allowed just how much firing defensive coordinator Mike Smith would really change.Well, in some big areas, it’s changed quite a bit. But in one equally big area, it hasn’t seemed to have changed at all. Under two minutes, whether it be late in the first half or in the game itself, this Tampa Bay defense just seems to go soft. With a two point lead and less than two minutes on the clock, the Bucs should have gone into the locker room with their lead. After all, Baltimore’s offense lacks big play ability. However, after gains of seven, fourteen, nine and twenty-eight, they were in the red zone with half a minute remaining and one timeout remaining in just four plays. The drive ended in a field goal and a Baltimore Ravens 10-9 lead heading into the locker rooms. This possession set the stage for the Ravens to come out in the second half looking to control the ball and the clock.THE PLAY: Energy not wasted on the youthFootball is a hard game. It’s even harder when you’re a defender on the field for extended periods of time.By the time the Ravens finished their second possession of the second-half, they had held the ball for over fourteen minutes and scored ten points. Tampa Bay on the other hand, held the ball for just over four minutes and put up three. To say the Buccaneers defense was exhausted would be an understatement.During their longest stretch on the field, Tampa Bay’s defensive unit surrendered four first-downs with three coming on third downs. The biggest play of the drive was eight yards. However, the biggest play of the drive came on a four-yard loss.On third-and-seven, the Buccaneers defense had their first shot at getting off the field maintaining a five-point deficit.Early in the down, Carl Nassib gets his mitts on Baltimore’s rookie quarterback, Lamar Jackson, but is unable to pull him down.Credit to Nassib for recovering and later chasing down the Heisman Trophy winner eleven-yards later Ali Marpet Jersey , but the damage had been done.No third down opportunity would come with this much yardage attached to it for the remainder of the possession.A dead ball foul on running back Kenneth Dixon backed the offense up fifteen yards following this run, but the damage had been done. First down converted, and Tampa Bay’s defenders would spend another five and a half minutes on the field before finally getting the chance to rest.THE PLAY: Complications in BaltimoreWith less than fourteen minutes left in the game, the Ravens had held the ball for fourteen minutes of the second-half and scored twice. But all was not lost.Tampa Bay was down just eight points and Jameis Winston had been playing some of the best football of his career since returning to the starting lineup. But then....Winston and star receiver Mike Evans were simply not on the same page here. While the pass falls short of Evans, he hasn’t even begun or appeared to be ready to get into any kind of route break when the ball is delivered.Perhaps seeing Eric Weddle on top and being aware of Cyrus Jones underneath, Evans simply didn’t expect the ball to be thrown his way. It’s hard to see what Winston saw. At a glance, it looks like Winston simply wanted to throw the ball to Evans.Coming out of the slot, Chris Godwin is in single coverage against safety Tony Jefferson. Tight end Cameron Brate has solid box-out position on linebacker C.J. Mosely over the middle. Running back Peyton Barber has nobody within ten yards of him on the far left side.Winston wasn’t under pressure. The game wasn’t on the line in the sense he needed to get a big play right away. We’ve seen a much improved quarterback over the past few weeks, but this play was a bad play, and it came at perhaps the worst time it could have for Week 15.THE PLAY: Final shotTampa Bay’s defense did their job. Despite coming onto the field on the wrong side of the fifty-yard line, the Bucs got the ball back without any more points added to the Ravens’ lead. Now, it was on Winston and the offense to make good on the second chance. We know how this ends. The Bucs offense drove from their own 38-yard line to the Baltimore 30-yard line and faced third-and-one.Now, I didn’t tweet this, so I have no evidence. But I remember thinking aloud, if this is four down territory with less than eight minutes to go, then I pass on third. Look for a screen or a quick slant, perhaps a deep shot if single high is presented.Adam Humphries was the name I was hoping for. Peyton Barber was the name we got. And it came with a three-yard loss. All of this set up the final play for the Buccaneers offense. One shot to extend the drive and keep their hopes of winning alive. Not a good throw. Not a good play design either. Having Godwin and Barber so close together right at the marker is way too much congestion.I don’t know if someone ran the wrong route. Godwin broke in before breaking back out to the spot Winston threw the ball. Perhaps Barber was supposed to be flatter and give more space to the outside for Winston to fit the ball.Whatever the cause, the ball was to far inside and it was easily defended by the Ravens secondary.Jackson and the Baltimore offense regained possession at the spot, and would hold the ball for the remainder of the game.

The NFL stands for Not

Messagepar laiyongcai92 » Lun 20 Mai 2019, 10:22

The NFL stands for Not For Long Ryan Succop Jersey White , as we saw with Nick Williams. Williams had a very strong preseason and training camp, but was injured so didn’t make the team out of the gate. Once healthy he joined the team again. Unfortunately Nick made 2 very costly errors on Sunday and was cut. On a human level, it’s very sad to see a guy that has worked his entire life to be a professional football player, and it didn’t work out with the Titans. Hopefully he gets a job somewhere else. I wish him the best. Jayon Brown has been awesome this year, and I think that’s been overshadowed by the overall run defense/Rashaan being awful. Brown was the reason I didn’t think we needed to absolutely prioritize ILB this past offseason. That being said, if Evans ever becomes a solid player Bennie Logan Jersey White , we’ll be set for years. Jim Wyatt does his mailbag and does a good job of not answering the Dez Bryant questions. The guy can’t separate and is a locker room cancer. STOP ASKING ABOUT HIM, PEOPLE. Jim Wyatt takes a tour of 40 mock drafts and it looks like a lot of people have the Titans selecting Christian Wilkins, Noah Fant, or TJ Hockenson. I think of those three, Wilkins is the likeliest..."Jim Wyatt takes a tour of 40 mock drafts and it looks like a lot of people have the Titans selecting Christian Wilkins, Noah Fant Earl Campbell Jersey White , or TJ Hockenson. I think of those three, Wilkins is the likeliest to be a Titan. We will see in a week and a half.James T. Wyatt also answers the questions of fans via his mailbag. Luke Bryan and Bobby Bones are going to be on ABC’s coverage of the draft. That duo doesn’t sound very appealing to me, but to each their own. Marcus Mariota is bigger and hoping the added weight keeps him healthier. He had his best season when he was heavier, so its worth a shot. Gil Brandt has his top 150 prospects, and I think he’s got Montez Sweat way too high. I also haven’t quite understood the Josh Jacobs love, considering he was the third most productive RB on his own team Derrick Morgan Jersey White , and Harris tested better than him. It interesting that he has Chris Lindstrom in the 40s, which gives me a bit of hope that the Titans can get him in the 2nd round.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Jonathan

Messagepar laiyongcai92 » Lun 27 Mai 2019, 04:37

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Jonathan Quick and Anze Kopitar have been teammates since they were drafted together 13½ years ago by the Los Angeles Kings John Carlson Jersey , so the synchronicity of their milestone achievements Saturday night just felt right. And though 300 is a nice, round number, they were even more excited about a sharp win that propelled the Kings out of the NHL cellar.Quick earned his 300th victory and Kopitar scored his 300th goal while Los Angeles escaped last place in the overall league standings with a 4-0 win over the Edmonton Oilers. The Kings’ captain and their longtime starting goalie were the foundation of two Stanley Cup championship teams in Los Angeles, where they’ve been on the NHL roster together since late 2008.A few minutes after Kopitar got his milestone goal in the third period, Quick finished up his own landmark win along with his 51st career shutout.“Feels pretty good,” said Kopitar, the fifth player to score 300 goals for the Kings. “I was hoping it was going to come a little bit earlier than that, but it’s here Lars Eller Jersey , and I’m proud of that. … It’s great for Quickie. He’s, in my mind, the best goalie in the world. It’s very comforting to have him back there, and a privilege to play in front of him.”Quick made 16 saves and combined with his defense to end the five-game scoring streaks of Edmonton stars Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl.“As far as 300 wins, it’s just a group of guys that I’ve been lucky enough to play with,” Quick said. “Hopefully we keep going. We want to win some more games. For Kopi, that’s awesome. He’s more of a playmaker than a goal-scorer, so 300 goals Madison Bowey Jersey , that’s a lot.”Kyle Clifford, Tyler Toffoli and Jeff Carter scored during a dominant first period in the Kings’ sixth win in nine games since mid-December.Mikko Koskinen yielded three goals on eight Kings shots before Cam Talbot replaced him in the first period for the Oilers.Edmonton coach Ken Hitchcock castigated his team after its seventh loss in eight games.“We had one player show up and play,” Hitchcock said. “Darnell Nurse was our best player by a mile … and that’s all we had. We didn’t compete. Their best players were their best players. We didn’t compete. This is on everybody. When you have one player that competes at a high level in a game like this, it can’t be acceptable. There’s been too much of this go on in the first 41 games. We win one, and then we take our foot off the gas, and that’s exactly what we did.”The poor first period was a rerun for the Oilers, who also struggled early against Arizona on Wednesday before rallying to win.“What has to change for us (is) we’re a situation-motivated team,” Hitchcock said. “I’ve only been here 20 games Nicklas Backstrom Jersey , and I see the situation motivates them. We lose, we get embarrassed, we get motivated, and that isn’t a playoff team. That isn’t a playoff attitude, and we have to change. But this can’t be acceptable. … I don’t know what it is, but we’ll figure it out.”All-Star Drew Doughty had two early assists for the Kings, who are on their first sustained stretch of strong play after languishing at the bottom of the league for much of the season. With these two points, Los Angeles moved above Ottawa James Neal Jersey Womens , Philadelphia and St. Louis while pulling even at the bottom of the Pacific Division with Arizona, albeit with more games played. They’re small but vital movements for the Kings after a dismal first half of the season that included the firing of coach John Stevens. The Kings ranked 30th in the 31-team NHL with only 22 first-period goals before they got three more past the Oilers.Clifford put the Kings up just 3:15 in when he took a pass at mid-ice, skated around Caleb Jones and flipped in his sixth goal. Toffoli scored after Doughty kept an Oilers turnover in the zone and set up the forward for only his second goal in 25 games.Carter then chased Koskinen with his eighth goal of the season.NOTES: Kings F Carl Hagelin returned from a 20-game absence with a knee injury. The Swede played in only five games after Los Angeles acquired him from Pittsburgh in a trade for Tanner Pearson before getting hurt. … Edmonton RW Alex Chiasson returned from a three-game absence with a sore knee. … Oilers D Matt Benning was scratched for only the second time since Oct. 25. He left the road trip to attend his grandfather’s funeral in Edmonton on Friday. Former Kings D Kevin Gravel took his spot in the Oilers’ lineup.UP NEXTOilers: At Ducks on Sunday.Kings: At Sharks on Monday. Matt Martin is going back to the New York Islanders. The Toronto Maple Leafs have dealt the feisty forward to the Islanders, who drafted him in 2008. The Leafs get minor-league goalie Eamon McAdam in the deal. Also on Tuesday, the Islanders agreed to a one-year, $1.5 million deal with goalie Robin Lehner. Lehner had a 3.01 goals-against average with a .908 save percentage in 53 games with the Buffalo Sabres last season. The Sabres declined to give Lehner a $4 million qualifying offer as a restricted free agent and relinquished his rights. He will try to improve the Islanders goaltending which allowed a league-high 293 goals last season.Martin signed a four-year, $10 million deal with the Leafs prior to the 2016 season. After playing every game in his first season with the Leafs, Martin suited up for just 50 games this past season and did not dress for Toronto’s seven-game playoff series against the Boston Bruins. In 132 games for the Leafs T.J. Oshie Jersey , the 29-year-old Martin had eight goals, 13 assists and 173 penalty minutes. The 23-year-old McAdam split the 2017-18 season between Bridgeport of the AHL and Worcester of the ECHL. A third-round pick of the Islanders in 2013, McAdam has not played in the NHL.The move comes two days after the Leafs beat out the Islanders for marquee free agent John Tavares, who had been with New York since starting his NHL career in 2009.It marks the first trade between new Leafs GM Kyle Dubas and the man who preceded him in that role – Islanders GM Lou Lamoriello.—

DETROIT (AP) — Reuniting linemates

Messagepar laiyongcai92 » Lun 27 Mai 2019, 05:04

DETROIT (AP) — Reuniting linemates worked out for the Montreal Canadiens.Andrew Shaw recorded his first career hat trick Richard Panik Jersey , Max Domi had two goals and three assists for a career-high five points and Jonathan Drouin a career-best four assists as the Canadiens routed the Detroit Red Wings 8-1 Tuesday night.“It was great to be back out there with Max and Dru (Drouin) again. We’ve played together before with good success, and it obviously felt good for us again tonight,” Shaw said. “Everything that I did tonight was because of them. I was trying to get into good situations and they kept getting me the puck.”Tomas Tatar, Brendan Gallagher, and Joel Armia also scored for Montreal.Defenseman Jordie Benn added two assists and Carey Price made 28 saves.“I thought the key was that we never took any time off,” Domi said.“We got the early lead thanks to Tats (Tatar), and then we were ready to go again at the start of the second and third periods.”Anthony Mantha scored for Detroit, which allowed a hat trick for the second straight game. Jimmy Howard returned after missing two games due to illness and made 16 saves and allowed six goals before being pulled after the second period. Howard has been pulled in three consecutive starts. Jonathan Bernier stopped 10 shots in relief.“I’m not sure what happened. It went in our net too easy Womens Shane Doan Jersey , but not from a goaltending perspective. We gave up stupid chances out of nowhere and they were in the net,” Red Wings coach Jeff Blashill said.“When you don’t play great defense, you have no chance because you are always digging the puck out of your net.”Defenseman Madison Bowey made his debut with Detroit after being obtained in a trade that sent defenseman Nick Jensen to the defending Stanley Cup champion Washington Capitals on Friday.Tatar, a former Red Wing, opened the scoring 6:16 in. He fought off Detroit rookie defenseman Filip Hronek to get to a bouncing puck for a partial breakaway and beat Howard with a forehand shot for his 22nd goal. The Canadiens added five goals in the second period.Shaw scored the first (2:22) and last goal of the period (43 seconds left). Gallagher scored his 27th with 8:41 left, Domi scored with 6:12 remaining and Armia netted his seventh with 3:51 left.Mantha spoiled Price’s shutout bid with his 16th goal with 1:44 remaining in the middle period.Domi got his second goal and 22nd of the season, and Shaw completed his hat trick in the third. Shaw has 16 goals this season.“I’ve had a few two-goal games, but I’ve never gotten that third one Anders Bjork Jersey ,” Shaw said. “So that felt great.”NOTE: Drouin’s assists were his first points in eight games. . Detroit D Trevor Daley was a late scratch with an upper-body injury. He was replaced by D Jonathan Ericsson. . The Canadiens lost 2-1 to the New Jersey Devils on Monday night. . PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Sean Couturier kept the Philadelphia Flyers‘ slim playoff hopes alive for at least one more day.Couturier scored in regulation and provided the only goal in a shootout as the Flyers beat the Toronto Maple Leafs 5-4 Wednesday night.Radko Gudas, Travis Konecny and Ryan Hartman also scored for Philadelphia, which remained mathematically alive for a playoff berth. The Flyers moved within eight points of idle Montreal for the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference with five regular-season games remaining.“Whatever it is, the situation, I think everyone has pride in here,” Couturier said. “We want to win games. It’s a lot more fun to win. Whatever happens here down the stretch we need to finish strong and build something here. Just push on in the same direction.”Auston Matthews, Connor Brown, Nazem Kadri and William Nylander scored for Toronto. After four Flyers missed in the shootout Bobby Orr Jersey , Couturier deked to his forehand and beat Frederik Andersen. It was his third shootout goal in 21 tries.Carter Hart secured Philadelphia’s third win the last eight games when he stopped Nylander’s attempt. In addition to the 20-year-old rookie not allowing a goal on five attempts in his first career tiebreaker, Hart made 38 saves in regulation. It looked as if the Flyers had the game won in overtime when Travis Sanheim poked the puck over the goal line 2:34 into the extra period. But the officials disallowed the goal because they said the whistle had blown to stop play, even though Andersen never appeared to have control.Philadelphia interim coach Scott Gordon liked the way his team kept competing after they were down 2-0 after the first period.“There’s got to be an element of character that always comes to the forefront,” Gordon said. “And I’d like to think that’s how we’ll finish out the season.”Nylander evened it at 4 with 8:27 left in the third when his turnaround shot from the slot, following a turnover by Shayne Gostisbehere, went high over Hart.Hartman had put Philadelphia ahead 4-3 with 11 minutes left in regulation. He took a pass from Scott Laughton from behind the net and scored with a shot between Andersen’s legs from close range.Matthews tied it at 3 by following his own miss and converting from a sharp angle 1:43 into the third. The Flyers took a 3-2 lead with second-period goals from Konecny, Gudas and Couturier. It was that 20-minute stretch that probably cost Toronto two points.“I was disappointed in our second period,” Maple Leafs coach Mike Babcock said. “I thought we let ourselves down with that. There’s no reason to be careless with the puck and not take care of it http://www.officialbruinsproonline.com/authentic-adidas-brad-marchand-jersey , there’s just no reason, especially for a team that’s trying to do what we’re trying to do.”Konecny’s wrist shot on the break whizzed over Andersen’s left shoulder 3:39 into the period, pulling Philadelphia within 2-1.Gudas evened the score 3:36 later when his long wrist shot got past a screened Andersen. Couturier netted his 32nd of the season on a deflection of a shot by Sanheim with 4:14 left in the period to give Philadelphia a one-goal lead heading into the third.Goals by Brown and Kadri gave Toronto a 2-0 lead after the first period.NOTES: Leafs C Patrick Marleau tied Mark Recchi for fifth place all-time in games played with his 1,652nd regular-season appearance. . Toronto won the season series 2-1. All three games were high-scoring, with the Leafs winning both in Toronto 6-0 on Nov. 24 and 7-6 on March 15. … Philadelphia improved to 3-1 in shootouts this season, while the Leafs lost in their first shootout of the season.UP NEXTMaple Leafs: At Ottawa on Saturday.Flyers: At Carolina on Saturday.

The Seattle Seahawks were 35 yards

Messagepar laiyongcai92 » Lun 27 Mai 2019, 08:07

The Seattle Seahawks were 35 yards away from defying the long-shot odds and stunning the Los Angeles Rams at the last-minute. They almost overcame a 12-point deficit with five minutes to go.Almost.I wrote this line last week Mychal Kendricks Jersey , and it repeated itself this week. The Seahawks are competitive with the league’s best teams... they are not good enough to be considered among the best in the NFL. They’re way better than the worst teams (Detroit Lions, Oakland Raiders) but they lack both the talent and execution to contend. Here are the Winners and Losers from Seattle’s latest loss to a team based in Los Angeles.WinnersRashaad PennyWith no Chris Carson, this was Penny’s chance to shine, and shine he did. He had 108 yards on 12 carries and his first-career NFL touchdown, which means it’s tattoo time for a popular figure on Seahawks Twitter and frequent producer of bad food takes. Penny showed good vision, some power, cut-back abilities, and while he wasn’t blazing fast, he was able to break into the open field on multiple occasions. Congrats to Penny on a strong performance, and hopefully this earns him more snaps.Mike DavisThe numbers don’t look sexy, but Davis did contribute 11 carries for 58 yards and the late receiving touchdown. He ran hard, picking up extra yards by driving through contact, and certainly looked better than he did last week. Davis is still a problem in pass protection, though. Tyler LockettWith Doug Baldwin not healthy, it’s evident that Lockett is the de facto #1 WR, and he made a spectacular catch for a touchdown to bring his total to seven on the season. He led the Seahawks with 5 catches for 67 yards, plus a remarkable spin move on a jet sweep to gain 16 and has shown us a level of play that exceeds even his strong rookie campaign. I only wish he didn’t give the ball to Floyd Mayweather...Quinton JeffersonI’ve gotten on Q-Jeff’s case over his penalty issues, but he picked up a sack on a twist that made the Rams punt for the first time all game, and had some nice moments in run support on a day when the Seahawks looked awful defending the run. Michael DicksonThree punts for an average of 55 yards, including one that pinned the Rams inside their 20. It’s a shame this wasn’t a Fisherball era game, or else we could’ve seen Dickson and Johnny Hekker in a punt-off that would’ve been simply orgasmic for Special Teams lovers.Jordan SimmonsI didn’t hear his named called or see him make any glaring mistakes (edit: oh he totally allowed pressure on a third-down sack in the final quarter), so not bad for his Seahawks debut filling in for D.J. Fluker. This was a surprise development given the Rams pass rush was destined to go after Russell Wilson aplenty, but it turns out it was other offensive linemen who were quite culpable on drive-killing sacks.Russell Wilson - The RunnerHey, he’s healthy-ish again! Russell Wilson ran for 92 of Seattle’s 273 yards on the ground, and he looked quick, kept on some read-options, and did some vintage Wilson scrambles where he just bailed as soon as no one was open but he had plenty of green grass in front of him. This is a new development that may change the offense moving forward, and perhaps this form of Russ Magic is back.LosersKen Norton Jr and the entire defenseI can’t stand Ken Norton Jr’s playcalling on 3rd and long. Stop rushing three! The critical 3rd and 15 at the end of the third quarter was an apparent bust in the zone coverage, but there was no good reason to willingly just give Jared Goff all the time in the world to find the open guy. That’s at least the fourth time we’ve seen that happen this season, and I’m sick of it. He seemed ill-prepared to adjust to the screen passes and toss sweeps. Of course, the defense also needs to execute, and they only forced four non-scoring drives all game, and two of them were kneel-downs. They were carved up every which way on the ground and through the air, with only sporadic moments of success. This was always a tough task given the high-flying Rams offense, but they weren’t good enough.JR SweezyWow he was terrible. Worst game of the season for him, even acknowledging it’s no easy feat dealing with Aaron Donald and N’Damukong Suh. He certainly gave up two of the four sacks, and was physically overmatched. With no Fluker, I figured Sweezy would be more dependable than Simmons... that didn’t seem to be the case.KJ WrightHe didn’t look right and the post-game press conference confirmed as such. Wright looked sluggish, off the pace, missing tackles and looking... well, not like KJ Wright. I wouldn’t be against him sitting on Thursday, because a hampered Wright proved to be a liability. C.J. ProsiseGets one carry, swallowed up for -3 yards, effectively killing a drive. To be fair, there was no good reason for him to be getting the ball on 2nd and 2, when he’s clearly better off as a third-down back.Time management and the two-minute/hurry-up offenseHoly shit, they are so slow on offense that they took a delay of game AFTER A TOUCHBACK ON THE KICKOFF. How is this possible? The end-of-half scoring attempt was a nice job in theory of denying the Rams the ball again, but they basically played for the field goal despite having all three timeouts while in Rams territory with under a minute to go. That’s unacceptable. They have no effective passing game for two-minute situations Nazair Jones Jersey , and whether that’s on Russell Wilson or Brian Schottenheimer, it’s hurting the team. The next completed pass that leads to a stopped clock because it was along the sidelines might be the first. What happened down 36-24 with 5:43 to go? They couldn’t score until after the two-minute warning, which is the same thing as blowing a free timeout. Willingly running the ball with under four minutes to go on 1st and 10 was mindboggling. This is the second week in a row we’ve seen this occur. I also question spiking the ball on the game’s final possession with :37 left and it’s 1st and 10 at the 35.Elite offenses have these issues figured out. The Seahawks are fundamentally inept at operating in two-minute drills and/or quick-score situations. Brian Schottenheimer’s playcallingThe Seahawks scored 31 points, racked up 29 first-downs, 414 yards of offense, and 273 yards on the ground. I hated most of the offensive playcalling. Russell Wilson didn’t eclipse 100 net yards passing until well into the 4th quarter. They were genuinely trying to win the game throwing as infrequently as humanly possible, even though the Rams secondary had been carved up several times this season. Schottenheimer plays for 3rd down, which means the Seahawks are constantly in obvious passing down situations if they don’t have successful rushes on 1st and 2nd down. Seattle was 2/9 on 3rd down conversions, with Wilson sacked all four times on this particular down. I love the revival of the run game, but if the Seahawks continue to be a run-first team in a pass-first league, such that Wilson essentially does not throw a majority of the time unless he absolutely has to, then the Seahawks have a decision to make: Suck up and move on from the current offensive philosophy and put Wilson in a system that will make him thrive more as a passer, or move on from him after the 2019 season. I sure as hell would rather see a soon-to-be 30-year-old Wilson running a Sean McVay-style offense than commanding a system that is the antithesis of how to succeed offensively in the modern-day NFL.Final NotesSebastian Janikowski is now 2 for his last 36 onside kick attempts. I don’t hate the spirit of the onside kick “surprise,” but not under these new rules with a kicker who is totally unreliable in these situations. A Michael Dickson dropkick may as well have been worth a shot, but don’t let Seabass do these.Nick Vannett caught his second touchdown in as many weeks in tight coverage. He’s coming along as a safety valve and red zone target for Wilson.Russell Wilson’s 4th quarter heroics from 2017 have largely been absent this year. In fact, he’s committed five turnovers in the 4th quarter, and three of them were essentially game-enders. I thought he played well for the most part, but it’s evident that the Seahawks won’t be able to win close games unless he’s on his A-game and mistake free.Frank Clark got a .5 sack to improve his total to 7.5. Dion Jordan added a 0.5 sack to finally get off the board. The 3rd and 15 play to Robert Woods might have been a Shaquill Griffin error. I’m sure film experts will help me out, but Griffin appears to be getting picked on for at least one big play per week over the past several games. It’s somewhat discouraging, as Tre Flowers has seemingly outperformed him, but Griffin is the CB 1.The wild card race isn’t over, and in fact several results broke Seattle’s way this week, but the Seahawks have no more room for error. Beat the Green Bay Packers and Carolina Panthers to end the month and things will look up again. Lose either one of them and it becomes Mission Impossible. RENTON, Wash. (AP) — The vast majority of what the Seattle Seahawks needed to do in churning through its roster and clearing out a handful of players with big contracts later in their careers took place last offseason. The moves helped accelerate what coach Pete Carroll and general manager John Schneider were hoping to do in “refreshing” Seattle’s roster and set up the franchise for having salary cap flexibility in the future. But the difficult decisions didn’t end with the departures of Michael Bennett, Richard Sherman and choosing not to extend safety Earl Thomas. After completing an unexpected season of 10 wins and a playoff berth, the Seahawks still have a few significant free agent decisions to make heading into the offseason. And the two most important would appear to be on the defensive side with linebacker K.J. Wright coming off an injured-filled season and pass rusher Frank Clark looking to cash in on the best season of his young career.“This time of year, we always cite that it’s a really difficult time,” Carroll said. “There’s a lot of stuff that has to take place, there’s a lot of business. John (Schneider) has a master plan of carrying this thing out. He’s got a schedule and calendar of all kinds of stuff that he’s working. Already, we’re well into it. There’s a strategy and a plan to carry this out and our guys know. We’ve communicated with everybody.”Seattle has 14 unrestricted free agents heading into offseason, with Clark and Wright headlining the list because of their specific situations. Thomas is also an unrestricted free agent, but after a contentious holdout last offseason and a season-ending leg injury suffered in Week 4, the likelihood of Thomas continuing his career with Seattle appears slim at best.Clark and Wright both played this past season in the final year of their contracts, choosing to take the risk of not having contract certainty going into 2019. The results touched both ends of the spectrum of possibilities and leaves Seattle with intriguing decisions to make.Clark proved his worth as an elite pass rusher with a career-high 14 sacks in his first season playing without Bennett and fellow veteran Cliff Avril around. It was the most sacks by any Seattle player since 2007 and put Clark in line for a massive payday should he hit the open market. But that possibility may drive Seattle to use its franchise tag for the first time since 2010 when it was used on kicker Olindo Mare. While Carroll and others have made it clear they want Clark as part of the future, it may be easier for Seattle to pay Clark around $18 million for 2019 and try to work out something long term in the interim. While Clark seemed to prove his future worth, this season only raised questions about whether Wright should be part of Seattle’s future. It wasn’t because of his play as when he was on the field, Wright continued to show his value to Seattle’s defense, highlighted by his juggling end zone interception against Dallas in the playoff loss. But Wright will turn 30 in July and had knee issues derail most of his 2018 season.“I’m pretty sure he’s going to be telling me everything that is going on,” Seattle linebacker Bobby Wagner said of Wright. “I’ll pay attention to it. He’s my brother and I hope everything works out, but I understand it’s a business.”Aside from Wright and Clark, Seattle must make decisions on two key offensive linemen with guards J.R. Sweezy and D.J. Fluker having played 2018 on one-year deals and helped the Seahawks have the best run game in the NFL.Other key unrestricted free agents who played important roles in 2018 include cornerback Justin Coleman, running back Mike Davis, kicker Sebastian Janikowski and linebacker Mychal Kendricks. And hanging over all of Seattle’s decisions are how any of them will play into potential contract extensions for quarterback Russell Wilson and Wagner, who both have deals that expire after the 2019 season.“Russ and I met and we talked about the future. We are talking about where we are going and what we want to get done. And, you know, that’s very much in our plans,” Carroll said.
