Why the Lions will win

Messagepar laiyongcai92 » Lun 27 Mai 2019, 08:37

Why the Lions will win Jaquiski Tartt Jersey , why the Lions will lose on Sunday The San Francisco 49ers and Detroit Lions square off on Sunday in a matchup of two teams looking to bounce back from Week 1. The 49ers hung close late with Minnesota, but made too many mistakes. The Lions looked like they were going to run away with things after a first play pick six, and then it all went south in a hurry.I took some time this week to chat with Chris Perfett from Pride of Detroit, and we took a different look at this matchup. We each wrote up a couple reasons why we thought our team would win or lose. I’ll drop their post in when it’s complete, but for now, here is what they had to say about the Lions, both good and bad.Why the Lions will loseThis team looked inept on Monday night - not to mention an entire preseason of football - in ways that cannot be easily fixed within the course of six days. I don’t suspect Matthew Stafford will get picked off four more times, but I do suspect there will still remain trouble on the offense as the line tries to work together without T.J. Lang and Stafford struggles against his usual historically slow starts. Without much of a ground game to show, the charity ball once more falls on Stafford’s big square head, and if he can’t at least find Kenny Golladay or a Texas bro thermos full of Jack then we’re in for rough sailing off Galveston. He has more weapons than a Walmart hunting department but it all means nothing if his head is twisted and his line can’t keep him propped up. The absolute apocalypse scenario, rough beast slouching towards Bethlehem Womens Joe Montana Jersey , is if 49er linemen start calling out the plays before they happen. The defense is doomed to potentially make Garoppolo, that sweet Italian boy, look like he didn’t just spend last week getting pushed around by a Vikings defense full of thieved lunch money and adolescent testosterone. No sir, the Lions defense is a nice hearty chicken soup, and if you ask nicely it might hold the Ezekiel Ansah. He was the only defender who looked competent going out there. My editor, Jeremy, tells me the linebackers played “okay” but I refuse to believe him and there’s plenty of room for disaster here. As long as Darius Slay is contained, the backfield poses no few problems; as long as the 49ers know they can run the football, the line won’t be able to help but give up four yards each time. Overall this Lions defense continues to hold to the old adage of “bend don’t break” but they just like to break so damn much every now and then. Why the Lions will winI don’t know, maybe Matt Patricia took them all to boot camp and got them strung out, spun on stevia and weed and extracts of pineal glands. Maybe they’ve all uncorked their third eyes and they’re mental behemoths Womens Bradley Pinion Jersey , psychic monsters capable of working together as a collective hivemind of sport and legalized half-murder. Maybe that self-same metamorphosis has allowed them to forget what they’ve been doing for the past five weeks, at least, and operate as a professional football team and not the B squad at Wayne State. Of course, at that point we have to start thinking about what they would do to the rest of the Bay Area, Elon Musk and every other fascist libertarian nerd living in San Francisco, rather than just what happens in Santa Clara on a gridiron. Maybe the rent will go down once they’re done.It would take a Christmas miracle or hitherto unseen competence to turn this around, and if it’s the latter then I want to know why it took so long to get out to show us the goods. A winning game probably means that Stafford has a whale of a day, Garoppolo can’t tell the DBs apart and just throws towards Darius Slay 20 times and maybe that waiver pickup of Romeo Okwara actually turns out some sacks on Jimmy boy. Spreading the ball around might be useful too. Ezekiel Ansah playing healthy might provide the pressure needed to stopper up this 49ers offense.I’m having fun though. Don’t let the prose tell you otherwise. The Senior Bowl began on Tuesday (well, the workout portions), and with 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan running South practices this year, we decided it was important to keep tradition and give you a special Senior Bowl edition of the nuggets. Niners Nation has two writers on-site for the practices and the game on Saturday. Both have already started posting content from Tuesday. Derrik Klassen wrapped up the defensive prospectson Day One while Tommy Call III took care of wide receivers and guards. Be checking back for those two as they will be contributing articles on what they see on the field through the week. You can also follow the Senior Bowl using our hub. This includes recaps and other insights from our NFL blogs across the network Garrett Celek Jersey , so there’s a wealth of information there. I’ve added in several links from our other team blogs. Some of these are talking about players in relation to their team needs, however I found the write-ups well done and thought that the analyses could also be applied to the 49ers. For those that don’t have a dog

Messagepar laiyongcai92 » Lun 27 Mai 2019, 09:15

For those that don’t have a dog in the fight - which is the majority of the people who will read this since the Tampa Bay Buccaneers aren’t playing - there are a few ways to keep yourself emotionally invested in the game. Of course Carlton Davis Jersey , there’s the popular square game where if the scores match up to the numbers you have, you win cash. There’s DFS sites like FanDuel and Draft Kings where you can enter fantasy lineups and compete against hundreds of thousands of people. Then, there’s prop bets. Those, I must say, are the most fun. There’s the staples like “Will the coin toss be heads or tails”, the over/under on the National Anthem, or what color the Gatorade will be that is dumped on the head coach of the winning team. But it goes so much deeper than that. Here are a few of my favorites as found over at My Bookie;Number of times Tony Romo says “Oh, Jim - I don’t know Jim” - Over/Under 2.5Number of times Tom Brady’s exact age (41) is mentioned in the broadcast - Over/Under 2.5Which commercial will air first - Doritos (-200) or Pringles (+140)Will Andre 3000 join Big Boi on stage during halftime? - Yes (+100) or No (-140)First song played by Maroon 5? (Lots of songs listed here)On top of all those, you can bet over/unders on passing yards, touchdowns, completions, etc for the game or by quarter for each quarterback. Same goes for running backs and receivers. You can bet on the player to score the first touchdown for Patriots, the Rams, and the game as a whole. You can bet on the player to score the last touchdown. There’s millions of props lined up for every player, every position, everything you can think of.Like, for instance;Color of Tony Romo’s Tie (If prominent) - Blue is the favorite at -130, while brown is at +1200Color of Jim Nantz’s Tie (if prominent) - Purple site at +100 O. J. Howard Jersey , Red +250, Brown or Yellow at +700The quarter where Romo gets his first play prediction correct - 1st (-350), 2nd (+350), 3rd (+1400), or 4th (+1300)All of these are just another fun way to get yourself invested in the game and have a rooting interest. No one is saying spend hundreds of dollars. But hey - give yourself $25 and take some fun little prop bets and see if you come out of Super Bowl Sunday a winner!Training Camp Pressure Points: Defense and Special Teams After one of the worst defensive seasons in Tampa Bay history, general manager Jason Licht gave the Bucs’ defense a major overhaul this offseason. Licht brought in multiple free agents with production and Super Bowl experience to help bolster the unit. These players as well as the incumbents will relied upon heavily to help the Bucs make the playoffs in 2018 and the majority of Tampa Bay’s success will rest on the defensive shoulders of the team. Defensive LineWilliam Gholston - Another no-sack year and you can bet Gholston is gone from the Bay with his price tag after 2018. Beau Allen - One of those Super Bowl-experienced players, Allen will be looked up to for leadership and production.Gerald McCoy - With all the new talent around him, McCoy needs to have a huge year.Vita Vea - Selected with the no. 12 pick just like Warren Sapp, Vea must anchor Tampa Bay’s defensive line for years - starting in 2018. Jason Pierre-Paul - He is expected to turn around the league’s worst pass rush and is making a ton of money, which only brightens the spotlight.Vinny Curry - Even though he averages less than four sacks a season, that should double this year - which won’t be easy to do.Noah Spence - It’s going to be tough proving that you can come back from a season-ending injury and continue to develop as an effective player. Hopefully Spence can pick up where he left off in 2016Aaron Doster-USA TODAY SportsLinebackerKwon Alexander - Alexander will be expected to step up his game with the major influx of talent in front of him. Lavonte David - With the increasing talent around him, David will need to make more impact plays rather than consistent plays. Kendell Beckwith - Beckwith will be counted on when he returns from injury to help the Bucs’ run defense - which is quite the task in its own right.CornerbacksVernon Hargreaves III - Poor play over the first two seasons led the Bucs to draft two cornerbacks in the second round, which clearly explains the pressure that Hargreaves III is under. Ryan Smith - See above - Smith will be fighting off talented rookies all season long in order to retain his spot.M.J. Stewart - Stewart’s versatility should get him on the field sooner rather than later and it will be a disappointment if he isn’t out there early on. Carlton Davis - The excitement around what he can do at his size is enough pressure for Davis to perform well. Brent Grimes - A bad 2018 would nearly doom Grimes’ hopes to continue playing into 2019 if that’s what he wants to ultimately do.This season will be a tell-all for VH3Kim Klement-USA TODAY SportsSafetyJustin Evans - Expectations are high for the second-year player and he will have to hold down the back end of the defense. Chris Conte - Conte is becoming more and more expendable each year and his play in 2018 will determine the rest of his career with the Bucs, but he will still be needed opposite Evans. Keith Tandy - With his career on the downside, Tandy needs a good season to keep his future playing hopes alive.Josh Robinson - After playing in just one game in 2017, Robinson has to prove that he belongs on the roster for this season. Kicker/PunterBryan Anger - It’ll be hard convince a potentially new regime to keep a punter at $3.4 million unless he just plays off the charts, so that’s what Anger must do this year.Chandler Catanzaro - Just take a look at Tampa Bay’s recent placekicking history - that’s all the pressure you need.

FORT WAYNE

Messagepar laiyongcai92 » Lun 27 Mai 2019, 10:00

FORT WAYNE DaQuan Jones Jersey , Ind. (AP) — Jack Flynn scored 21 of his career-high 33 points in the second half to help Wisconsin-Oshkosh beat Swarthmore 96-82 on Saturday night in the Division III title game.Connor Duax scored 16 points and Adam Fravert had 14 points, 12 rebounds, five blocks and three steals for Wisconsin-Oshkosh. The Titans (29-3), who lost to Wheaton College in the championship game last season, won their first national title and became the first program in D-III history to go from runners-up to champions.Flynn hit a jumper before Duax made back-to-back 3-pointers and a layup to make it 57-44 with 16:20 to play. Swarthmore (29-4) hit six 3s in a span of six minutes, three seconds to trim its deficit to 80-73 with five minutes remaining but Wisconsin-Oshkosh answered with a 16-5 run, including seven points by Flynn, to open an 18-point lead with 51 seconds to go.Zac O’Dell had 22 points and 11 rebounds and Cam Wiley added 20 points, seven assists and three steals for the Garnet. Swarthmore had its 15-game win streak snapped.Wisconsin-Oshkosh made its first four shots, and the Garnet missed their first six, to open an 11-0 lead and never trailed. Swarthmore, which came in ranked fifth in the nation in field-goal percentage defense (38.3) and seventh in scoring defense (62.8 per game), allowed a season high in points on 52.3-percent (34 of 65) shooting. NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Music City and the NFL are throwing quite a party for the draft, and the Tennessee Titans will be a couple of miles away at team headquarters quietly biding their time until hitting the clock.“We’re going to have to sit and wait for a while till we’re picking there at 19 — if we stay at 19,” general manager Jon Robinson said. The Titans hold the 19th pick overall after coming up a victory short of a second straight playoff berth in coach Mike Vrabel’s debut season. They have six total draft picks a year after drafting only four players, and the general manager who has made 14 trades since being hired in January 2016 has shown he’s willing to move. Robinson traded up in the first two rounds last year to take linebackers Rashaan Evans and Harold Landry III.Now the Titans must decide how to help Marcus Mariota with the quarterback going into his fifth and final season under contract.Mariota has yet to start all 16 games in any of his first four seasons Womens Jonnu Smith Jersey , and the Titans made sure to upgrade their backup quarterback by trading with Miami for Ryan Tannehill. They also released Blaine Gabbert, who went 2-1 in Mariota’s place last season with the one loss in the regular-season finale.Tennessee goes into the draft with no specific holes after signing left guard Rodger Saffold, wide receiver Adam Humphries and linebacker Cameron Wake in free agency. Robinson also kept safety Kenny Vaccaro off the market, signing the veteran to a four-year deal two days before free agency opened, and bringing back offensive lineman Kevin Pamphile and running back David Fluellen.Perhaps adding a blocker such as North Carolina State center Garrett Bradbury would be wise on Day 1 of the draft.Improving wherever possible is the goal after going 9-7 in three consecutive seasons with only one playoff berth.“We all have to figure out how we can go from good to great,” Vrabel said. “We have to go from good to great. We have been 9-7 the past three years, which is stuck in the middle.”Some things to know about the Titans:PASS RUSHDrafting another outside linebacker is a must even with Wake replacing Brian Orakpo, who retired a day after the season ended. The Titans traded up to No. 41 last year for Landry who is in position to start with veteran Derrick Morgan no longer under contract. Landry tied for third on the team with 4½ sacks starting three of his 15 games. Sharif Finch also should play more after the undrafted rookie had 1½ sacks, but more depth is a must for a defense that had 39 sacks last season.PROTECTING MARIOTAThe Titans remade the interior of the offensive line, letting left guard Quinton Spain leave as a free agent for Buffalo and cutting right guard Josh Kline after he declined to rework the three years left on his contract. Pamphile is expected to have a chance at right guard. Center Ben Jones is going into the final year of his contract, while the Titans have not announced yet whether they will pick up right tackle Jack Conklin’s fifth-year option after injuries limited him to nine games last season.MARIOTA’S STATUSRobinson made clear that Mariota is the Titans’ starter with Tannehill brought in to push the younger quarterback. The Titans used their fourth and final draft pick last year at quarterback, though Luke Falk was waived in the final roster cuts. The Titans are determined to help Mariota grow after he set the franchise record completion rate at 68.2% percent last season. Keeping Mariota healthy is the first step after he was sacked a career-worst 42 times.“We’re excited that Marcus is our quarterback,” Vrabel said. “I just think the durability of the player is critical. We only have so many guys. … Being available is critical.”MORE TARGETSThe Titans could use another tight end with veteran Delanie Walker coming off a broken ankle that ended his season in the opener, especially with Jonnu Smith winding up on injured reserve himself. Considering Humphries would have led the Titans with his 76 catches and five TD receptions last season, more help for a still-young receiving group remains an option.TRADED PICKSThree of the Titans’ picks come within the first 82 selections. They sent their sixth-round pick to Baltimore last September in a deal for linebacker Kamalei Correa and their seventh-round selection to Miami as part of a trade for Tannehill. Tennessee also netted the Dolphins‘ second pick in the sixth round.
